Today I've got a great polish named after a great movie! Yes, I have China Glaze Some Like It Haute for you from the new 3D Eye Candy Glitters Collection. Like the other polishes in this set, it has a Marilyn Monroe-themed name, this time after one of her best movies, 1959's "Some Like It Hot." Some Like It Haute is a gunmetal grey glitter mixed with larger round holographic glitter. This polish reminds me of geodes. I really love it! It's shaping up to be one of my favorites from this collection.
I've seen this tossed around as a dupe for Orly Rock Solid (check it out HERE if you like) and while they are definitely similar in concept, the holographic glitter in Some Like It Haute is much larger and flashier. Some Like It Haute gives you much more of a gem-encrusted look. But if you missed out on Rock Solid, this could be a good way to satisfy that itch-plus you get some extra bling! Both are beautiful polishes to have in your collection.
Some Like It Haute does seem to be a dupe for Wet N Wild Diamond In The Rough, Sally Hansen Glitz Gal from the new Gem Crush Collection and Nails Inc Sloane Square based on swatches I've seen. Phew, that's a lot of dupes! Overall, I'd say this is another winner from this collection! I can't wait to try the rest of the ones I got!

ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful! At first, I was going to pass up Some Like It Haute, but after seeing so many great swatches, I've changed my mind. I like this version more than Rock Solid because of the denser glitter, so I'm glad I didn't get that when it came out.

Got this with my last order and can't wait to try it! I have Rock Solid as well and they do look similar in the bottle but they're not 100% dupes. Glad I have them both ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad some of you are thinking of taking a second look at this one! I agree that in the bottle, it doesn't look quite as pretty as it does on the nail. But once I had it on I really fell in love with. Hopefully those of you who got/will get this will too. :)
ReplyDelete@Polish and Charms: I got 4 of the 6 (all except Material Girl and Blonde Bombshell) and I really love them so far! Those new Sally Hansen Gem Crush polishes dupe a lot of these though so maybe if you're iffy on them you could save a buck or two with the Sally ones.
