My Ten Friends Dirtball is a brown jelly base with holographic turquoise glitter, brown glitter and silver holo microglitter. At first, Dirtball seems like a misnomer for such a lovely, glittery polish, but the name refers to planets, not the polish itself. :) It looks like a miniature galaxy on your nails! Most of My Ten Friends' polishes have an opaque enough base to wear them alone, but I tend to prefer them layered; makes the glitter "pop" more. This is one coat over OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys, a chocolate-colored creme.
The formula didn't give me any trouble, although I was a little bummed I couldn't fish out any of the large turquoise hexes that I could see glittering so beautifully inside the bottle. I am generally not a brown polish fan, but this one really won me over. Turquoise and brown may not seem like the most cohesive combination, but the two colors actually play off each other very well!
You can purchase My Ten Friends on Etsy.

My Ten Friends Attack Ships On Fire
My Ten Friends Attack Ships On Fire is a warm-toned, shimmering gold with various sizes of orange and blue glitter. It was recently reformulated and is now available as
the first polish in the "Blade Runner" tribute collection (love that
idea) at My Ten Friends' Etsy shop. I have the older, original version of Attack Ships On Fire, but it's so beautiful that I think it's still worth showing off! This is two coats of Attack Ships On Fire over L'Oreal Amazon's Flash.
I don't think I could sum it up any better than the official brand description: "Magnificent and glorious to behold and certainly not to be forgotten like tears in the rain." It's a stunning polish full of bright, vivid colors. The blue glitter pieces come in a couple different finishes--matte, metallic and holographic--so there is some nice variety as well. Amazon's Flash seems to be a near-perfect match for Attack Ships On Fire's actual base color; I just used Amazon's Flash to amp up the opacity and make the blue and orange really pop.
My understanding is the new version did away with the large orange hexes and features many small orange hexes instead. I actually like the look of the new version more, because you seem to get a more even mix of blue and orange glitter. I had to fish for the orange hexes in the version I have and I know that's one of the problems the reformulation aims to fix.
I am all about recommending My Ten Friends, not only because of the brand's extraordinary polishes, but because of the stellar customer service too. The owner, MeiLynn, is very hands-on. She's answered questions for me on both Facebook and Etsy and she could not have been more friendly and helpful. I love when a polish maker is willing to go the extra mile like that!

My Ten Friends 42
Hello everyone! I hope you are having a good week so far. We are pretty much snowed in here, which means plenty of lazing around and trash TV. I love me some "Maury" though, I can't lie. It's so shameful but so hilarious. What's your TV guilty pleasure?
But the bad weather also means extra time for nails and I've got a real beauty to share with you today! My Ten Friends 42 has a shimmering sky blue base with gold, blue and light green glitters in a variety of sizes and finishes. There's a good dash of holo pieces in there for extra shine and sparkles. :) This is two coats over Sally Hansen Model Behavior, a bright blue creme.
I snapped a quick pic of the bottle to share with you too, just because I think it's so beautiful! Look at all that glittery goodness!
Although I know My Ten Friends polishes follow an intergalactic theme, 42 really reminds me of the ocean. I love this polish! It has all of my favorite polish colors all in one and the formula is fabulous. The glitter spreads very evenly and is well-mixed, so there's no placing or fishing required.
If you're looking for a new indie brand to try out, I highly recommend My Ten Friends! They make some gorgeous polishes with excellent customer service. I love the brand's sci-fi theme too--helps it stand out from the sea of other indie makers out there. You can purchase My Ten Friends at the brand's Etsy shop.

My Ten Friends Planetary Romance
Like any good addict, one of my favorite pastimes is trolling Etsy for polish. I always love finding new (or at least new to me) brands there and recently picked up a few polishes from a new indie brand I came across called My Ten Friends. You can purchase My Ten Friends at the brand's Etsy shop. I couldn't resist all the colorful glitters and sci-fi themed names! :)
Today we'll be checking out Planetary Romance, a shimmering purple base filled with various shapes and sizes of red, gold and gold holo glitter. You could build up opacity to wear Planetary Romance alone, but I think it really pops and looks just like it does in the bottle with a good base underneath it. This is one coat over Butter London Brummie.
Planetary Romance applies flawlessly. The thickness is just right and the glitter pieces distribute evenly and easily. I love how the red glitter pops and of course having some holo glitter in the mix as well doesn't hurt! Planetary Romance is really cool and I'll definitely be keeping an eye on My Ten Friends.
I picked up several My Ten Friends polishes and I'm really impressed with the brand so far. The polishes themselves are awesome and the customer service is outstanding. I received both an Etsy message notifying me that my order had shipped and a post-delivery message making sure I was completely happy with my purchase. Aside from all the unique sparkles and colors, I think one-on-one customer service is what really sets indies apart from the mass market brands, so it's always nice to see a maker that really goes the extra mile.
