I've swatched Julep America on here once before (for another TT theme, even--oops, didn't realize that 'til I went looking for the post just now), but I really couldn't think of a more perfect polish for a 4th of July mani, so out it came again! America is a clear base with red, blue and silver glitter, plus some silver stars to make this polish literally star-spangled. This time around, I layered it over Essie No Place Like Chrome, a silver chrome. This seemed like it would be a really awesome combo in my head, but it kinda fell flat on the nail. :-/ See what you think!
America and No Place Like Chrome didn't quite pop like I'd envisioned they would. I figured a silver base would really make the red and blue glitter stand out, but it also takes some of the "oomph" out of the silver star glitter, which is probably the funnest part of this polish. *sad trombone* Waahhhh wahhh. I think it looked much better over the red I paired it with when I first wore it.
Oh well. I guess I'll have to try again later this week! I do hope my Twinsies had better luck with their manis!
