Chanel Peridot

Way back when this blog first started, one of the earliest polishes I showed you was a very special one: my only Chanel, Peridot. Peridot mimics the look of a beetle's wing and the duochrome effect is very strong on this one; the dominant color here is gold, but in other lights it's teal or green or something in between, either way it's always stunning. Definitely click to enlarge so you can see the complexity of this shade. I felt like wearing this again today so I figured it wouldn't hurt to show you guys some more pictures of this absolutely gorgeous polish. After all, a girl can never have enough Chanel in her life, right? :)

As you can see, I took many, many pictures of her because she is a special lady. But pictures don't really do her justice. This is two effortless, gorgeous coats. I know some people have problems with the wear on Chanel polishes but I took these shots after almost three days of wear and I had nary a chip or sign of tipwear. I'm still wearing this mani now because I kind of don't want to take it off. :)

She ain't cheap, but she's worth it, ladies! I would own a bazillion back-ups of this if it weren't so expensive, but as it stands I just have to savor the one bottle I have. I used my employee discount from the department store to pick her up, which softened the blow a little bit, but it's still an investment. Normally Chanel polishes cost around $25. But if you have just one in your collection, in my opinion, it ought to be this one.

This is one of my top three polishes in my collection, hands down. Maybe my absolute favorite -it's too hard to choose though! The formula is marvelous, the color is unique, the wear is good and I mean, just look at her, you guys. Don't you just hear well-manicured angels singing when you see her?

  1. Hi, I'm a new follower. I have Peridot too, well I have all three from that collection and love them; even Quartz that didn't make too many people's head spin.

  2. Hi! New reader here -- came by when I saw the corgi profile picture. ;)

This polish looks like it was made for you! What top coat did you use for this? I use Poshe and it's serviceable, but I'm still looking for something that will rock my socks off.

  3. @greeneyespinknails

Welcome! Thanks for following! :) I think all three from the collection are gorgeous! I know some people hate on Quartz but I think it's really pretty! I wanted them all but I was trying to be frugal haha.

  4. @Rach

Always good to have another polish-and corgi-lover on board :) I have two corgis and my profile pic is my boy corgi, Taxi, on the day we got him. So cute!

And thanks! I use Seche Vite topcoat. It dries SO fast and it's super shiny! It gets really thick in the last half of the bottle so thinner is a must, but otherwise I don't have any major complaints about it. I know some people dislike it but it's my absolute favorite so if you haven't tried it yet, I'd say give it a shot! You can get it at Sally for about six bucks.

  5. I love corgis! I have never had one (a high school classmate did ... does that count?) so I am going to live vicariously through you. ;)

Hmm, thanks. I've never tried SV with Chanels ... I've tried SV over regular OPI top coat when I wore Particuliere and that seemed to work pretty well. I guess this is one of those things that I'll have to experiment with. Sigh.

  6. I've never wanted a channel polish before (too expensive) but I really like this one, it's really unique, plus it's my birthstone :P

  7. love this color!!! my favorite chanel for sure!

  8. Wow I love this polish, thanks for showing her from so many great angles!

Check out my blog if you have a minute! :)

  9. Glad all you ladies like Peridot as much as I do! Thanks for reading-and commenting! :)

  10. @Mandy

Followed you back. :) Thanks for reading!
