Orly Fresh

The other day I showed you Frisky, a Tiffany blue-esque creme from Orly's Happy Go Lucky mini-collection. Well today I have one of its collection-mates (Is that a word? If not, I just made it one.), Fresh. Fresh looks like a grass green creme on steroids; in fact, the more I looked at it I decided it's basically Hulk green. I liked this shade in the bottle but once I put it on my nail, something apparently started to go wrong.

I hate when I find a color I like on its own that then looks awful against my skin tone. HULK SMASH! (Sorry, I couldn't help myself.) I'm pretty pale and personally I just don't find this flattering on me. I believe the first thing I said to my friend right after I finished this manicure was, "This makes me look like I have jaundice."

But hey, that's the fault of my own genetics, not the polish itself. Fresh is still a fun neon, I just don't think it's for me. But I'd love to see this on someone with a different skin tone! The formula was a little on the runny side but nothing too hard to handle. I used two coats here (no topcoat this time), with three on a few nails to cover up a bald spot here and there. I think I'll keep this in my stash anyways-after all, I don't have any other neon greens like this-and see if I warm up to it more. You never know...
