Essie Resort 2014 Preview

If you ask me, Essie's Resort Collections tend to feature some of their best shades of the whole year. The four-color collections may be small, but they really help get me in the mood for spring colors and there is always a standout shade or two. This year's collection, Resort Fling, features three pastels and one dark blurple. Let's take a look!

I like the overall color palette here, even if the individual shades don't seem all that unique when judged on their own merits. Still, I'm intrigued to see swatches of these, especially Resort Fling. I might pick this collection up in the mini cube set Essie releases for their collections, because these colors would make for a fun skittles mani!

Are you ready for spring colors yet? Do any of these catch your eye?

    1. Agreed! It's hard to tell exactly what kind of shade Cocktails and Coconuts will be based on these PR shots, but I'm excited to find out!

  3. I am always a fan of the resort collection from Essie. In fact, I just put Turquoise & Caicos from their 2010 resort collection on my nails last night! I am really intrigued by the Cocktails & Coconuts and the Under the Twilight. I'd probably put Revlon's Opal glitter topper on top of the Twilight one!! Thanks for sharing! How do you find out about these releases. I only ever seem to find out via blogs or when they hit the shelves! I want in the loop!

    1. Turquoise & Caicos is a classic! So many of my all-time favorite Essies came from resort collections. As for how I find out about the collections, I can't speak for other bloggers, but for me, it's just a lot of scouring the net for any tidbits and photos that have started to circulate. Sometimes I see ads or features on new collections in magazines too, so then I'll go online and research. My background is in journalism, so I like digging for stuff. :) The companies themselves will also put out press releases with pictures of the polishes and info about them, so that's how most people (myself included) find out about new collections is when the company puts out that info directly.

    2. If I find info or photos from a specific source other than the polish company itself, you can always find a link to that source in my blog posting as well. :)

  4. I like all of them expect for that blurple. They have done too many blurples in my opinion! But that cocktails and coconuts looks really pretty

    1. Yeah they have done a ton of blurples, haven't they? Blurple isn't a shade I feel compelled to have a ton of either. I have one or two I really like--OPI Roadhouse Blues comes to mind--but other than that, I'm set.

  6. I like the palette, but I'm not sure how I'm going to feel until I see swatches. :)

P.S. My boyfriend emailed this to me yesterday, and although you might've seen this already, I thought you would enjoy it, too: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/26/corgi-and-baby-sister-photos_n_4504604.html
