China Glaze Creative Fantasy

China Glaze Creative Fantasy is a bright purple crelly from the Cirque Du Soleil Collection. This looks like a creme in the bottle, so I was a bit surprised to see how non-opaque it was in swatches. I am not a huge jelly fan but I've been wearing a lot of purples lately so I thought this might be a fun polish to try.

I had several frustrations while applying Creative Fantasy. It was annoyingly streaky and I wound up having to do four coats in all. I don't mind the semi-opaque finish of a crelly, but I like the coverage to at least be even without patches. Dry time was also a lot longer than usual, possibly because I used so many coats, and I had a lot of air bubbles by the time it finally did dry. Also, a heads-up that Creative Fantasy dries to a satin finish and is noticeably darker than the bottle color.

Overall, this was a letdown for me. I wish the color was closer to what you see in the bottle and that the formula was easier to work with. I got this as part of a BOGO deal at Sally, so I'm not terribly upset that it wound up being a miss for me. I think I will try to use it for a jelly sandwich at least!
