Orly Sugar High Preview

Periodically, I go hunting on the web to try and find news on the latest collections to share with you guys. We've got a pretty good idea already of what most of the major brands have on the horizon, but I had to really dig to find anything on Orly's spring polishes. Honestly I feel like they've fallen off the map in the last year or two. I see less and less PR and buzz for their collections and maybe it's just where I live, but their newest polishes seem to be a bit harder to find in stores nowadays. Have you noticed this at all?

Anyways, the point is, I managed to find some info on their Spring 2015 collection, Sugar High. It launches in February. Let's take a look!

Cake Pop

Candy Shop

Frosting

Key Lime Twist

Plum Sugar

Sweet Dreams

The colors are nice enough, but I don't see anything here that gets me super excited. Sorry, Orly. :(

How do you like the looks of the Sugar High Collection? See anything you'll be picking up?

  1. Hey Chelsea! I'm from Australia and Orly seems to be becoming more noticed and popular here. I received this collection about 2 months ago and just recently blogged about it but I think Orly is going off the radar a bit in the U.S as this scenario happened last year too!

    1. Thanks for the info, Mel! If never considered that perhaps they are gearing their business toward more of an international approach, but glad to hear Orly is catching on outside of the States!

    1. It looks like it has some iridescent shimmer, based on these pics. I hope it does because that would be gorgeous with that griege base!

  3. I agree with Amanda, Sweet Dreams looks lovely. I wonder if Frosting is off white or pure white.

    1. I'm hoping for an off-white, myself! Maybe the name means it's like a buttercream-type color?

  4. I agree with you - I hardly ever see Orly collections being reviewed anymore. Someone in one of the FB nail groups started a thread about that she liked their polishes but hardly ever hear or see them being mentioned. Of course, this is outside of those polishes that become must-haves, like Orly Mirrorball - lol, that polish became one of the most talked about polishes that everyone had to have this fall/winter! I did bring up that they had a fantastic neon summer collection last year. But, yeah, their collections don't seem to get the press others do.
Speaking of summer polishes, I want that Key Lime Twist! I will hunt it down!

    1. Yeah, it's a shame that they don't seem to have as much of a PR presence as they used to, because they still make some great-looking polishes! I feel like I don't hear about Orly's collections at all before I actually see them in the store and it's getting harder to find swatches of their new polishes compared to how it used to be. Mirrorball was a definite hit. I think maybe the last Orly polish I remember getting major buzz like that was all the way back when they came out with Fowl Play--what a fantastic polish that was!

  5. They seem practically MIA on social media, too, which is all the more odd considering their recent(ish) brand redesign.
