Deborah Lippmann Stronger

Deborah Lippmann Stronger is an indigo jelly base positively packed with magenta, blue, gold holo and silver holo hexes. There's so much glitter that Stronger is practically jewelry for your nails. Singer Kelly Clarkson helped Deborah create this polish and it's a glitter that it definitely made for life on stage. I can only imagine how much Stronger would sparkle and shine under all of those lights!

Stronger is an incredible polish and it instantly became one of my favorite Deborah Lippmann's. Deborah (with the assist from Kelly) really outdid herself with this one! But alas, Stronger is also something of a diva. The massive amount of glitter in this polish is both its greatest strength and weakness. On the one hand, it shines like the craziest of diamonds, but on the other, it's kind of a pain in the butt to apply. There may even be *gasp* too much glitter in this polish. I didn't think there could even be such a thing, but Stronger may have proved me wrong.

All the glitter made it tough to spread the polish across the nail, although adopting a "dabbling" approach for application did help somewhat. Another downside to having so much glitter is that it got all gummed up around the opening of the bottle as I was applying the polish. I used two coats here and surprisingly, it felt pretty smooth after just one coat of Seche on top. I used Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter A-Peel (my go-to with any glitter mani) for my basecoat, because I don't even want to think about how hard it would be to remove this polish the traditional way!

So Stronger may be as temperamental as she is beautiful, but at the end of the day, she's pretty and she knows it. The formula is undeniably thick and goopy, but one look at all those sparkles and you'll forgive her fussiness! ;)

  3. This is gorgeous but I can see what you mean about there being too much glitter. I hate polishes that are difficult to apply but sometimes they're worth it.
