It's Tuesday, so you know what that means: time for another go-around of Twinsie Tuesday! This week's theme is regional polish: a polish that is only available where you live or a brand that originates from your area. For me, this was an easy choice. I'm from Michigan, the birthplace of Meijer, which is a grocery store chain and the only place that carries the Studio M line. If you're not familiar with Studio M, they're owned by the same company that owns Color Club, so a lot of Studio M polishes are rebottled Color Club polishes, although Studio M does have its own unique colors as well. I actually don't have much access to Color Club where I live, so the Studio M line is a nice way to get some Color Club!
I'm not sure whether the Studio M polish I chose to show you today, Grape Escape, is a rebottle or an original. (If you do know, please give me a heads-up in the comments!) But I can tell you for sure that it's a blue-based neon purple creme. :)
This is kind of like China Glaze Grape Pop on steroids. It's bright but not melt-your-face-off-like-at-the-end-of-Raiders-of-the-Lost-Ark bright. I really love this color and I could see it flattering a wide variety of skintones.
Grape Escape dries to a semi-matte finish. The formula is excellent and completely opaque in three coats. What you see here is right after I painted--no clean-up required! I love it when that happens.

It's gorgeous! I have no clue if I am right, but could it be the same as Color Club Pucci-Licious???? The Color Club may be a little darker. Loving this though!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think Pucci-Licious may be more blue, but I'm not sure since I've only seen it in pictures! You could be right though, because Studio M rebottles a lot. :)
DeleteIt's a beautiful color! I'm a sucker for great purples!
ReplyDeleteMeredith Anne: I have Pucci-licious and I think it's a much lighter purple.
Thanks for the insight! We hardly ever get any Color Club where I live so it helps to have some input from someone! :)
DeleteThis is such an awesome amped up neon, blurple, violet. I love powerful cremes that just speak for themselves, no glitter or shimmer necessary.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it's a creme that really stands on its own! Although you do know I love my glitter. ;)
DeleteI soooooo love this! It looks so juicy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Maribeth!
Deleteoooooh!!!!! I LOVE this! Yummy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tara!
DeleteWhat an awesome color!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenn!
DeleteI'm so jealous of you and Cordia and your Studio M's!
ReplyDeleteIf you ever want some, just let me know and I can go hunting for you! :)
DeleteYay, Studio M! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI know, Studio M is awesome! Cheap and great, can't beat that! :)
DeleteThis is a gorgeous purple!! Stunning! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Ash!!
DeleteWhat a beautiful purple!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anna!
DeleteWow, what a gorgeous purple! That is my kinda color :)
ReplyDeleteWhere in Michigan are you? Some of the larger Bed Bath & Beyonds have a health & beauty section And they do carry Color Club.....please contact me privately ....if you want to .....and I'd be happy to let you know which ones I stalk. BTW Studio M polishes are awesome!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm from the east side originally but I've lived on the west side for the past few years. I actually looked into whether there were any BB&B stores around here with health and beauty sections back when I was desperate to find Revlon Whimsical and the closest one to where I live is quite a ways away. Thank you for the offer though, that's super sweet of you! :) My Meijer has gotten the last three Color Club collections though so I hope that trend continues!
DeleteChelsea, the BB&B at 6 Mile and Haggerty seems to have a pretty decent health and beauty section. I hear that one at 14 Mile and Orchard Lake has an even better one. I just don't seem to have the time to investigate that one. when I'm in that area I tend to hit up the Ulta and Sally's that's in the same plaza. Anyway, BB&B seems to carry Color Club's core line if you are ever trying to find and older polish. I have noticed that Meijer is carrying CC now too. At least the last few collections. Thanks again for the swatch. I've been eyeing that color for a while and always wondered if it looked good on the nail. So now there's another added to my must have list. Take care
DeleteThanks Tracey! I go back to the east side to visit my family so I'll have to check out the BB&B's next time I'm there. The shopping is sooo much better on the east side! I am hoping beyond hope that the Meijer by me will get the Color Club holographic collection in later this month though! And you're welcome! Glad to help! :)
DeleteOh, this is a really gorgeous purple.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenna!
DeleteI love this! I wish we had Meijer in NY, I always see people posting about what they find there.
ReplyDeleteThanks Katherine! Meijer is awesome! It's kinda weird to me to imagine living somewhere without one since they are literally EVERYWHERE here. My new place is right up the street from one with a big beauty section so I'm a happy camper. :)
DeleteThanks Nory!
ReplyDeleteawesome, gorgeous purple! I for sure need to pick this up becuase I am a sucker for purples! <3
ReplyDeletedang! I wish my region had some awesome polish like this.
