Anyways, that was a little preamble to this week's Twinsie Tuesday theme: patriotic nails! That means red, white and blue for us American gals and red and white for our Canadian Twinsies. I debated a lot over what to do for this particular theme and in order to spare you all another one of my horrible attempts at nail art (you're welcome), I thought I'd do a layering combo instead. This is one coat of China Glaze Love Marilyn over two coats of OPI Dating A Royal.
I actually think this turned out pretty cute! It's nothing earth-shattering but certainly worlds better than any abomination I would have freehanded. I forgot how opaque Love Marilyn is so maybe this would have looked a touch better if the glitter was sparser, but overall I was pleased with this mani.
Do you have any fun plans for the 4th of July? I'm working for a bit in the morning but hopefully I will be able to have some fun later in the day. Be sure to check out the other Twinsie Tuesday blogs to help get you in the holiday spirit!

ReplyDeleteThank you! And yep, they came a long way together from growing up in Tennessee farm country! They got married after my grandpa got out of the navy in WWII.

ReplyDeleteThanks Anne! :)
DeleteOh holy crap, that's a crazy double anniversary in the family! Wow! My cousin and his wife got married on July 4, too ... their reception was on top of the Space Needle in Seattle. They later admitted it might not have been the best location because everyone paid more attention to the fireworks on both sides of the water, not at them.
ReplyDeleteStill working? Go get your double pay, girlie! :)
Yep, it's an insane coincidence, isn't it? I was never clear on which couple met first. But today would have been my grandparents' 65th anniversary! The Space Needle? That sounds awesome! Although I agree I probably would have been more distracted by fireworks haha.
DeleteGotta make that money!!
Very loverly!!! :D
