Twinsie Tuesday: Cervical Cancer Awareness Mani

I believe this is our first time doing any type of awareness mani for TT, but as women, cervical cancer has the potential to impact all of our lives. I know many women who have fought against cervical cancer, PCOS and other related conditions. I think it's so important for all of us to remain educated about prevention, screening methods and the many different resources out there that offer information and support. There's a bit more information included at the end of this post if you are interested.

As for my mani, teal is the color for cervical cancer awareness, so I layered two coats of Shimmer Jasmine over Wet N Wild Teal Or No Teal. Jasmine is a teal glitterbomb with multicolored glitter pieces interspersed throughout and Teal Or No Teal is teal (unsurprisingly) with gold microshimmer. Their shades of teal actually wound up being an almost exact match for one another.

As the month of January brings cervical cancer into focus, it’s time to increase public understanding of the disease, including its prevalence, approaches to screening and prevention, treatment options, and resources that offer updated cervical cancer information throughout the year.
Each year in the United States, more than 11,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer and approximately 4,000 die of the disease. While certain types of the human papillomavirus (HPV) are linked to cervical cancer, vaccines such as Gardasil® and Cervarix™ are designed to prevent infection with high-risk types of HPV and have the potential to greatly reduce the occurrence of cervical cancer.

    1. Thanks Brandi! I think the fact that the two bases were so close really helped the other glitter colors pop.

    1. It is a very important cause. I think it's great there is a designated month to help remind all of us to read up on prevention and treatment methods.
