During the Queen's Diamond Jubilee this past weekend, I wanted to sport something with a bit of British flavor to it. I thought about maybe doing a Union Jack design or something like that for the Jubilee, but since I'm ghastly at nail art I figured I'd spare you all. ;) So instead, I donned a polish from the appropriately Anglophile-themed Butter London: Rosie Lee, a light pink glitterbomb. If you didn't know, Rosie Lee is British rhyming slang for tea! I'm not a huge tea person, but I really love this polish. It looks like optimism in a bottle!
This strikes me as very Glinda the Good Witch. Am I the only one? I just had to mention that because it's what this polish always makes me think of. Anyways, the formula here is quite thick but also surprisingly opaque. I got away with just two coats here--pretty impressive for a clear-based glitter. The thickness isn't unmanageable as-is, but I may add some thinner to this one just to make things a bit easier next time.
Rosie Lee is so feminine and flirty that I just couldn't help but love it. Girly, glitzy, gorgeous: I think that about sums Rosie Lee up!
Very pretty. You are right about Glinda! It also reminds me a bit of Katy Perry and Teenage dream.
ReplyDeleteReminds me a little of that too. Teenage Dream is one of my favorite polishes! :)
DeleteI love this!
ReplyDeleteThis is really pretty :O)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOh wow! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI love it. Glenda and Wizard of Oz little red sparkly shoes. This is an "Oh Happy Day" polish. I have quite a few BL's in my stash ~ looks like a good addition.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a cheerful polish. I think it'd make a great add to any BL stash. :)
DeleteI wonder what that Diamond jubilee is all about? Us americans have no idea (at least I have no idea!!) This is pretty on you!
ReplyDeleteHey Fingers! I just got back from London (for a family wedding, not for the Jubilee), but it's celebrating the Queen being on the throne for 60 years. A reason to spend tax-payers' money if you ask me, but a good reason to buy more British-inspired polish.
DeleteOops, sorry I never replied to this one, Fingers! Luckily Amanda covered for me. :) Butter London even made a special polish for the Jubilee but unfortunately I don't have it...yet!
DeleteHere's another glitter that I think I love. I can't pull these colors off sadly, but I love this on you!
ReplyDeleteOne day I will convert you into a glitter lover! :)
