This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme once again features my arch-nemesis: nail art! Our theme was a half moon mani using a neon and a pastel. I actually made a few attempts at this mani but they were all too horrendous to share. Not that this is great or even good, but hey, I tried! That was always me in art class: managing to get a B grade because the end result was kind of sucky, but dammit, I
tried! I used
Essie Orange, It's Obvious! and
Essie Navigate Her. As always with me and nail art, I apologize in advance for how ass-tastic this is.
I've only included one picture, because, dear reader, I like you too much to inflict you with two. For this mani, I used those little hole reinforcement stickers you use for three-ring binders as my guides, but it came out wonky on the pointer finger so I just free-handed it there. You know how sometimes "fixing" something makes it even worse? Yeah, that's what happened there haha. I think the ring finger actually turned out pretty inoffensive, so at least there's that. Small victories, people!
I was convinced that a half moon mani seemed simple enough that even someone as artistically challenge as me would be able to pull it off, but it seems I'm destined to forever be a nail art n00b. Sigh... I am by no means proud of this so let's just move swiftly onward from this hot mess, shall we? :) Hit up the other Twinsie Tuesday ladies below!

I don't think it looks that bad Chelsea!! You're too hard on yourself. I love the colors you chose too.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :) I think I just got my hopes up that this would be easy-peasy but then it sooo wasn't--at least not for me!
DeleteYou did great!!!! I love those colors together!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteI think this is really good!! I LOVE the colour combination you chose for this!!! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks! I tried to do a pretty stark contrast between the two colors because my first attempt (which was truly, truly dreadful) used different colors and it didn't really "pop."
DeleteYou didn't do so bad, I think it is good. The color combo is pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteVery very pretty combo
ReplyDeleteGeez Chelsea, I was coming over here expecting a HAM (hot-ass mess). This isn't bad at all! Silly girl <3
ReplyDeleteThanks Tara! It may not be a hot-ass mess but I still think it at least qualifies as a hot mess. ;)
DeleteLove your colors Chelsea!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI agree with everyone above, I think it looks great! these colors are so much fun
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah!
DeleteThis is NOT asstastic and I love these colors together. You're too hard on yourself! ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think the colors are the only part I really like. :)
DeleteOrange and green is such a cool choice! Inspired.
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't look bad at all! I absolutely stink at any and all nail art, including simple tape manis, but I still try it out. I refuse to post any pictures of them-no evidence of my failures is allowed to exist. :)
ReplyDeleteI can *kind of* do tape manis so long as the design is simple. I'm generally sooo incompetent at nail art though. Trust me, I took some pictures of my first attempt at this mani and immediately deleted them so they could never see the light of day!
DeleteI really like how this came out!! The colors together look good. Don't be so hard on yourself! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I tried... :)
DeleteLove the combo!
ReplyDeleteYou and I need to start a support group for those that cannot do nail art. Not that this is bad, but I think we share the same sentiments when it comes to anything other than polishing. However, these colors are so Halloween, it's funny that both these colors are from the spring collection!
ReplyDeleteThis is very true haha. I always know that you and I can commiserate on our lack of nail art skills. Nail art is just such a mystery to me! I agree that the colors are Halloween-y. Once this mani was finished I totally realized it looked like a pumpkin haha.
