This is the one and only peach shade in my entire stash--and a very recent addition at that: Essie A Crewed Interest. I don't really have anything against peach, it's just never a color I felt an urgent need to have. But this caught my eye when I saw the polishes for the newly released Navigate Her Collection and so I decided to give it a shot. A Crewed Interest is a pastel peach creme. The color reminds me a lot of band-aids actually--band-aids and orange sherbet haha.
The formula on this was pretty streaky. I used three coats and later on after the polish dried I noticed a few streaks and patches, primarily on my right hand which I can't paint as neatly or evenly as my left since I'm right-handed. The overall formula isn't awful but like with its collection-mate To Buy Or Not To Buy, I feel like A Crewed Interest's formula was kind of a step backward compared to the smooth creme formulas in the Cocktail Bling and Brand New Bag collections. Perhaps it's because these shades are both pastels, which are not exactly known for excellent formula and opacity.
For some reason I have a really strong mental associating between A Crewed Interest and OPI Pink Friday. I think it's because they share a similar softness and they're both creamy shades that remind me of sherbet colors. I'm not 100% certain A Crewed Interest is super flattering on my skintone but I like it anyways, probably because I don't have anything else remotely like it. If you already have some peach polishes then A Crewed Interest will likely be a pass for you but if you're like me and don't have anything peach, it'd be a good place to start.
I think it looks great on you!
ReplyDelete@Polish and Charms: Thanks!
ReplyDelete@GoingtotheShowing: Thank you! :) I think someone with slightly darker skin than me would really rock this polish but I still like it haha.
Beautiful color! You're right, it does look like a band-aid color but I always like this soft peach shade.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!!!
ReplyDeletePretty color! I don't have any peach shades in my stash at all, but this one is nice.
ReplyDeletei like this on you! peaches are conspicuously absent from my stash, so i might need to remedy that;]
ReplyDeleteI like the peach a lot! :) It's also great to find a more neutral color that's equally as fun and interesting to look at.
ReplyDeleteI think that color is very pretty i really dont have anything like it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it! I stumbled on your blog and am now a new follower! Looking forward to more posts from you!
ReplyDelete@Sujana: Thanks! I kept trying to figure out what it reminded me of then I realized it haha.
ReplyDelete@Nory: Thanks!
@Melissa: Thank you! It's strange, I never noticed I didn't have any peach shades until I bought this one. I like it a lot though.
@SeeSarahSwatch: Thank you! I think it would make a nice addition to your stash. :)
@Elizabeth: Thanks! Yes, I like that it's neutral without just being a pale nude. It's still got some life and some color to it.
@Glitz Glam Budget: Thank you and you're welcome! Glad you are following and thanks so much for reading! :)
I don't think I own any peach polish. But this sure does look like bandaids
ReplyDelete@Fingers: I think this will stay my only peach for a while. It's nice enough so I don't feel the need to suddenly hoard peaches or anything haha. I dunno why but I kinda liked this polish more once I realized it looks like band-aids. I'm strange I guess ha.
ReplyDeleteI think this looks pretty on you. LOL @ it looking like a band aid. I like it.
ReplyDelete@MariJo: Thank you! The color (and the similarity to band-aids haha) definitely grew on me the longer I wore it.
ReplyDeleteIs there fake essie out there??? I bought a few on amazon, and I noticed the labels are black and not blue like the rest of my essie. all the colors seem to be the same, but I am worried I bought fakes? Have any info?
ReplyDeleteI know there are fake Essie polishes out there--unfortunately pretty much every cosmetics brand is getting knocked off these days--but I couldn't tell you much about commonalities with the fake Essies and couldn't find anything on the internet really. I hear that some pre-retail/salon versions of Essie polishes have black labels though...? I looked through my stash and only had one with a black label: a bottle of Shine of the Times that I bought at Ulta. Sorry I can't be of more help!
DeleteI just got this polish today and tried it. The color is interesting but like you I am just not convinced about how it looks against my skin tone.
