China Glaze Mimosa's Before Mani's

What sort of terrible misunderstanding happened during the naming process for this polish? Why are there completely random apostrophes all over the place? The world may never know, but the former copy editor in me is not pleased! (Yep, I'm one of those people who practically have an aneurysm whenever I see things like they're/their, your/you're, etc. misused.)

Questionable grammar aside, China Glaze Mimosa's Before Mani's is a lovely color and the polish I was most looking forward to from the Avant Garden Collection. It's a peachy pink infused with a soft gold shimmer--so perfect for spring!

I was not let down one bit by this polish! It really is a gorgeous shade and the formula is top-notch. I used two coats here. This may be my favorite of the four polishes I picked up from Avant Garden. It's a tough call between this one and Fancy Pants, which I'll show you tomorrow. If you're a fan of peaches or pastels though, definitely check this one out!

Have you snagged any of the Avant Garden polishes yet? Which ones are you most excited for?

  1. Mimosa's before Mani's.That is one trbl name as Charles Barkley would say. I am very mystified about this one in every way. But the color is positively gorgeous, no questions asked.

  2. I KNOW. The apostrophes drive me BATTY. I pretty much refuse to buy this one out of protest, haha. I'm not even a real grammarian, but the former copy editor in me rejects this polish name ENTIRELY.

    1. Ugh, it's just so random, isn't it? I've come to accept all the terrible puns that go along with nail polish names (and the weird grammar that goes along with them, like putting in lots of hyphens to maemphasize a pun so everyone "gets" the joke) but now we have to deal with inexplicably awful grammar too? *first world problems*

  4. I have this polish and while I love the color, the excess apostrophes drove me crazy too.

  5. I thought the same thing when I saw the name. :) Lovely color, but I just can't bring myself to buy it with typos like that.

  7. That's a nice color! Reminds me a tiny bit in the realm of Orly Cotton Candy (kinda, right!?) A fun bright shade for spring!
