Butter London Slapper

I recently picked up Butter London Slapper (along with Snog and Marrow) during the $21 trio promo they had. Slapper and Marrow were both longtime lemmings of mine, so I couldn't resist the chance to finally snag them--and at a discount too! Slapper is a bright teal creme that was released as part of Butter London's fall collection last year. Slapper, for the record, photographs way too blue. It's much more vibrant and green-based in real life. Funny (and frustrating) how some colors just refuse to show up right on camera.

I love how bright this is! This may not have the flash of a glitter or a shimmer, but it's still a total eyecatcher. The formula has some drag to it but is manageable overall. I used two coats here. Slapper immediately reminded me of OPI Fly but I'm happy to say that, to my eye, they're not dupes. Slapper is lighter and more green.

I'd like to layer something over Slapper but I can't seem to settle on anything in particular. Any suggestions, ladies?

  6. A black/white glitter combo would be lovely over this. I hate it when the camera refuses to cooperate with colours.

    1. Good idea! And I know, it's so frustrating when they just won't show up correctly...

  7. Yeah, I had the same problem - definitely had to do a little adjusting to get it closer to real! I love this one SO much, though!

    1. I know, such a gorgeous color! If only it would photograph more cooperatively...

  8. This is a gorgeous color. I am in agreement with Pixie Nails, a black and white glitter would be stunning over this!

  9. I love Slapper, it's at the top of my Butter London wishlist for when I finally decide to open my wallet and splurge, haha. Even though it didn't photograph properly (so frustrating!), it still looks so beautiful!

  11. I had to get this when it came out...I was in an extreme buying polish mode then and could not get my hands on Nails Inc yet and a couple cream blues I was lemming of theirs so this one called big time my name! Glad you also got it finally. BL could fix their spotty formula issues in my book. I have too many that are thick, sticky glitters that need to be thinned when when new, or are streaky cream/shimmers. Seems I keep getting hit/miss on formula with them so now not as big of a hurry to get my fingers on new shades coming out.

    1. Yeah, some of their formulas lately have been a little "off" for me, whereas the first several Butters I tried were practically perfect! Still love the brand to bits though!

  12. I bought this same set! It's amazing. When I was sampling the colors (I put a couple quick coats on one finger) I happened to have Sinful Colors All About You out - it's a gold glitter - and swiped a layer of that on. O.M.G. Amazing.

    1. Ooo, I have All About You! It was actually my first Sinful Colors polish, if I remember correctly. I'll have to try that combo, thanks for the suggestion!
