Pixi Straight on till Morning Liner: Swatches & Review

So after my fabulous experience with the new Pixi polishes, I decided to finally pick up the eyeliner I've been wanting from their new Tinkerbell-inspired collection. The Straight on till Morning Liner is a deep olive green packed with golden-green shimmer.

The pencil itself feels very soft and smooth, not unlike the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner pencils. It glides on effortlessly. Pixi markets these as waterproof so to test that claim I tried removing these swatches with cold water and a tissue. When I pressed down, they didn't budge. When I scrubbed really hard (to the point that the tissue became all wadded up and useless), they smeared a bit but still remained mostly intact. It's safe to say this is waterproof. The pencil came off very cooperatively with some oil-based remover though, so when you're ready for it to come off, it's not a hassle like some waterproof products can be.

As a side note, the packaging to this line is absolutely adorable. Pixi really paid attention to detail here and stayed true to the Tinkerbell theme without making the products look too juvenile. It has some whimsy to it (as any good Tinkerbell collection should!) but it's got a sophisticated feel to it as well; it doesn't look like play make-up. The pencil has some very pretty artistic detailing on it, as you can see above, and the box itself is equally beautiful. I almost don't want to throw it out!

Overall I'm extremely pleased with this pencil. At $15, it costs more than your average drugstore pencil, but I feel the quality is higher than some of the Revlon, Rimmel and Covergirl pencils I've tried in the past, so to me the extra couple bucks is justified. You can buy Pixi products are your local Target or their official website.

  1. I've been looking for a similar olive liner that's pigmented like that for awhile. I have one from Almay that just takes Herculean strength to get it show color on my eye.

    1. I think you'd like this then! It takes no effort to get good pigmentation. The swatch on the left is just one full stroke, up and down. You don't have to practically stab your eye out to get color to show up like some drugstore pencils I've used hahaha.

    1. The packaging is so adorable, it's what initially caught my eye about this product. Thankfully the liner itself is great too! :)
