Twinsie Tuesday: OPI Glitzerland

It's Tuesday, so you know what that means: another installment of Twinsie Tuesday! This week's theme is metallic or duochrome. I decided to go with my all-time favorite gold polish, OPI Glitzerland from the Swiss Collection. (Please pardon the glare from the flash. I didn't remember to take pictures until it was already dark out! D'oh!)

I love Glitzerland so much that I actually don't own another gold foil. *gasp* I know! I have a thousand iterations of about every color but gold, because I think Glitzerland is absolutely perfect! The tone is just right; not too warm, not too cool. This would flatter a wide range of skintones. The formula is very workable and although it's a foil, it's not brushstroke-y. I used three coats here.

So there you have it: my favorite gold! For more metallics and duochromes, check out the other Twinsie Tuesday blogs below.

  1. I do remember the swiss collection but I didn't remember this polish. Perhaps this looks better than the gold polish from the Essie Metallics collection. This is interesting for me because I don't own a gold and I want to buy one.

    1. I've only seen one swatch of the Essie gold so far, but it looks like more of a chrome-type finish, whereas Glitzerland is a foil. Essie also looks to be more noticeably cool-toned. I'm debating whether or not to get the Essie gold--and the silver one too! I looooove Glitzerland though so I think it'd be an excellent starting point if you want a gold polish. :)

  2. How in the world does such a foil-laden gold not come out all brushstrokey? That formula is awesome!

    1. It's seriously one of the least brushstroke-y foils I've ever used! I love it!

  3. I second Elizabeth, this gold is amazing just for the fact that it's chrome-like and unstreaky. Awesomesauce.

    1. Thanks! It's a gorgeous gold--great alone or an excellent base for layering too!

  6. This is gorgeous! I think I have one gold foil, but it's not as dark as this one.

    1. Every now and then I'll see a gold foil that catches my eye but then I remember Glitzerland. Apparently gold is the one polish color where I am monogamous hahaha.

    1. I really think it's the perfect gold! I'm usually a silver kind of gal but I make an exception for Glitzerland. :)

  10. I love this polish but never bought it because I thought it would clash against my skin tone. Your photos are proof that I need this, it looks fantastic on you! (and I know we are pale twins lol)
