Nicole by OPI Nothing Kim-pares To Blue

I don't care for the Kardashians and I don't watch their multitude of E! shows, but I must admit that I really like their NOPI collections. Ssshhh, don't tell! In the most recent installment, I was immediately drawn to Nothing Kim-pares To Blue. Can I just say that the name is ghastly though? My friend asked me today what polish I was wearing and I was seriously embarassed to say the name out loud. Luckily the color itself is beautiful! It's a lovely pastel blue shimmer.

The formula here was okay. I dislike the NOPI brushes, both the current style and the ironically named Perfect Stroke brushes, and it felt like this polish wanted to go on in globs rather than apply nice and smoothly. I used three coats here.

Formula issues aside, this is a really pretty polish. Nothing Kim-pares To Blue reminds me of a more shimmery version of Essie Bikini So Teeny. (Coincidentally, I'm wearing Bikini So Teeny on my toes right now!) Bikini So Teeny looks like it has some shimmer in the bottle but it completely vanishes on the nail. That's not the case with Nothing Kim-pares To Blue though! If you like the finish of the shimmers in OPI's Holland Collection, this reminds me a lot of those. The shimmer compliments the base color beautifully and gives a vibrant shine and sparkle to this polish.

  6. I also felt the need to heavily caveat the fact that I bought and loved this color. It's gorgeous though, isn't it? I'm glad I bought this before shelling out for the Essie since I've been hearing the shimmer isn't as prominent.

    1. I know, I always feel like I have to put some sort of disclaimer with the Kardashian polishes haha. The shimmer in the Essie is virtually non-existant. It basically looks like a creme--a very pretty creme, but still!
