New Wet N Wild Lipsticks: Swatches & Review

Today I’ve got three new Wet N Wild lipsticks to share with you all. Two, Dollhouse Pink and 24 Carrot Gold, are from the Mega Last line, while the third, Salsa Lessons, is from the MegaShield line.

Let’s kick things off with Dollhouse Pink, a bright blue-based pink. I love me some hot pink lipstick! Dollhouse Pink’s texture is a lot like MAC’s satin lipsticks.

Next up is 24 Carrot Gold, an orange-based coral. This color looks so rich and juicy. I love it!

Last but not least is Salsa Lessons, an orange-based red. This is supposedly very similar to MAC Scarlet Ibis from the Iris Apfel Collection, albeit with a glossier finish. Unlike the Mega Last lipsticks, the MegaShield line has SPF 15. Salsa Lessons was the smoothest and most moisturizing of the three.

The packaging on these isn’t going to win any beauty contests. It’s functional but nothing special to look at—just a black plastic tube. However, the no frills packaging is likely part of the reason Wet N Wild is able to sell these at such a low price.

Although the packaging isn't exactly expensive-looking, thankfully the lipsticks themselves do not perform like cheap products. In fact, they absolutely blew me away. They’re creamy, pigmented and non-drying. These are extremely comparable to many of the high-end lipsticks I own. They deliver good wear and even leave behind a bit of a stain afterwards.

I’m incredibly impressed by all three of these. At $1.99 for the Mega Last lipsticks and $2.99 for MegaShield, these are some excellent, extremely affordable lipsticks. They make fabulous guilt-free treats to pop into your shopping cart next time you’re at the grocery or drug store.

  5. I love these. I have Dollhouse Pink and Salsa Lessons! These are perfect for me because at one point I found colors like these intimidating. I can't find 24 Carrot at any store near me. UGH! Great review!

    1. These are definitely a great way to roadtest colors that you are intimidated by or unsure about, since you're only out two bucks if it doesn't work out. 24 Carrot is the one I had to search hardest for! I only found it at one store and haven't seen it since!

  6. I have Salsa Lessons and it's one of my 2 go-to reds. It's smooth and perfect and works magically on pale, blue-toned skin. I've been debating back and forth about Dollhouse Pink though...you may have convinced me!
