Milani Shocking Pink Eyeshadow: Swatches & Review

I recently fell in love with one of Milani's new CVS-exclusive eyeshadows called Shocking Pink, a matte neon pink. But after hitting up the scant few CVS stores near my apartment, I came up empty handed. Luckily, one of my fellow Twinsies, the fabulous Jenn of All That Is Gorgeous..., was kind enough to track down Shocking Pink for me. How cool is that?! Thanks so much, Jenn! :)

Shocking Pink traveled all the way across the country to reach me, so I figured it was only right to give it some time in the spotlight. Check it out!

These swatches were done on bare skin, without primer. Although it's a matte, Shocking Pink does not feel chalky in the slightest and in fact has a very silky texture that applies smoothly and blends easily. It's so intensely pigmented that it's very easy to acheive the same color as what you see in the pan, but you could also apply with a light hand or blend it out to diffuse the color if you wished.

Shocking Pink performs just as well as many high-end shadows I own, except it costs less than five bucks! I used it with some of my Urban Decay eyeshadows and Shocking Pink worked beautifully alongside them. I took off my eye make-up after about eight hours of wear and Shocking Pink had no creasing and only minor fading around the inner corner of one eye (where I always get fading, for some reason). The pan size is also very generous--0.11 oz compared to the typical 0.05 oz--so you're not only getting an excellent product, but a lot of an excellent product, and all for a fabulous price too. You can't beat that!

I just love it when a drugstore product truly delivers. I usually approach them expecting to be disappointed but Shocking Pink blew me away. Bright eyeshadow fans will find a lot to love with this one. Keep your eyes peeled at your local CVS for it!

  1. So awesome! I was REALLY hoping I would find it for you, because then I was gonna get 2! My mom said she was gonna keep an eye out for it, so maybe there is hope! I kid you not we probably went to every CVS in Jax and Jax Beach; probably 30!

    1. I still haven't seen it ANYWHERE so I'm glad Jenn was able to track it down! I even kept an eye out for it when I went home for the long weekend and tried to track down another Milani eyeshadow (Green Fortune--mission accomplished, btw) but I didn't even see a display set up for these new shadows.
