Deborah Lippmann Mermaid's Dream

It was love at first sight for Mermaid's Dream and I. I saw it in a magazine and felt that familiar rush of "MUST. HAVE." that us polish addicts know all too well! (On that note, does anyone else feel bad when magazines do pictures of polish spilling out of the bottle? So much wasted polish!) Mermaid's Dream is an incredibly beautiful mix of seafoam green and gold microglitter with larger teal hex glitter.

Mermaid's Dream feels beachy, ethereal and whimsical all at the once. All of the different glitters in this polish mesh seamlessly into one gorgeous whole. Although each of the colors catches your eye on its own, they all compliment one another and create a look that's even greater than the sum of its beautiful parts. Something about it really captures the look and feel of the ocean, making this perfect for summer. The formula is fabulous too! It's surprisingly opaque and actually almost a one-coater. What you see here is two effortless coats.

This is easily one of the best polishes Deborah Lippmann has ever done and it deserves every bit of hype it gets. I stalled on getting this polish for a while because of the price but I knew it would be mine eventually; I'm powerless against sparkly things. Now that I finally have it, my only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner! In my opinion, this polish is a must-have. I will be rocking Mermaid's Dream a lot this summer--and well into fall too!

  1. I could not get it here in Germany and if I would buy it on Ebay I have to pay 36 Dollar for a bottle ;(

    1. You're right. There is no Deborah Lippmann, China Glaze, Zoya, Finger Paints, Color Club, Nubar, Orly and Franken here in Germany. We have to buy it on Ebay. And Franken or Finger Paints you do not get on Ebay shipping to my Country ;(

    2. Wow, I find it so odd that none of those brands are available in Germany! It's not like it's a small country where there isn't a big consumer base. How awful that it's such a hassle to track down so many of the big polish brands!

    1. I'd say this would be my pick as well. If you only get one DL, I'd go with this!

  5. Yes, I HATE it when they show polish coming out of the bottle! I know it's probably just a produced graphic but still, I don't see the point. Anyway, this looks freakin gorgeous on you and I thought that I would be ok without it but maybe not. Did you find that it has a bumpy texture? Because some pictures I see of it make it look like it might be kinda bumpy but your pictures look relatively pretty smooth. Sorry for writing a novel!

    1. I didn't feel it was overly bumpy. The hex glitter sits on top of the microglitter, so that gives it a bit of a rough feel, but nothing that bothered me. It applies really smoothly! I could still feel a bit of texture with one coat of topcoat but I'd say with two, you could probably smooth everything out. :) I think you'd like this one!
