If you follow Nailed on Instagram, then you saw that for my New Year's mani, I did a triple gold layering. I usually go with something gold and blingy for New Year's, so I've had it in my head for a while now that I wanted to do my own version of Miley Cyrus' ultra gold glitter manicure from her "We Can't Stop" music video for my NYE nails. I would not classify myself as a Miley fan but those nails were all kinds of fierce. Miley herself appeared to be a big fan of the mani, sharing it on Twitter and wearing it on the red carpet.
I used a
Youtube tutorial by HelloMaphie to get a better idea of how to recreate Miley's mani and then searched my stash for some polishes that might match. Here's what I came up with!
I started with a base of my beloved
OPI Glitzerland, followed by
China Glaze Blonde Bombshell to add some glitter. Then for the big glitter pieces, I topped everything off with Milani Jewel FX Gold. It's hard to show in pictures just how glittery and bright this mani was in real life!
This was an easy look to do and it packs some serious sparkle! What did you wear for your NYE mani?
I love your take on her mani! It's a really gorgeous look.

DeleteWhoa this looks amazing! I shouldn't have passed on Blonde Bombshell a few years ago when it came out, I could've recreated this!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :) I'm betting you could substitute any gold glitter with a bit of dimension to it in place of Blonde Bombshell and still get a very similar effect! That's one of the things I love about Miley's mani here is that it makes a statement but it's still an easy mani to create at home!
DeleteAwesome layering, Chelsea! Happy New Year! :D
