Review: Lush Love Lettuce Fresh Face Mask

I am a big fan of Lush's Fresh Face Masks. They act as excellent "boosters" for a wide variety of skin concerns and make for a relaxing, indulgent treat at the end of a long day. Today I'm going to talk to you about Love Lettuce, the Fresh Face Mask designed to scrub away dead skin and leave your face feeling soft, smooth and polished.

Love Lettuce contains seaweed gel to soften and moisturize skin, honey and almond oil (more softening ingredients), ground almonds for exfoliation, French lavender to balance oil production and Kaolin to deep clean and de-grease. The mask doesn't have much of a smell to it, just a crisp, "green" scent. I love how cooling and refreshing it feels when I apply this! It's a perfect remedy for the sweaty summer heat.

After about 5-10 minutes, when it's time to wash the mask off, you can put those ground almonds to work by rubbing the mask across your face for some gentle but effective exfoliation. Love Lettuce doesn't deliver as much of a deep cleaning and de-greasing experience as Cupcake, my favorite Fresh Face Mask (so far, at least) but it does leave my skin feeling super soft and, well, fresh! It's like I just finished with a very refreshing, luxurious spa treatment.

I could see this mask benefitting all skin types. Oily skin (like mine) will appreciate the lavender, which balances the skin's sebum production. Although the mask does have moisturizing properties, it doesn't leave my skin feeling the slightest bit greasy. Everything just feels perfectly balanced and clean. Meanwhile, those who suffer from dryness will like the skin-quenching effects of the seaweed gel. And all skin types need some cleansing and surface exfoliation!

A single pot costs $6.95 and you can get about six to eight masks per pot, depending on how thickly you apply them, so it really is a great value. The masks need to be refrigerated because they contain fresh ingredients with no preservatives, so the only place you can buy them is in-store. The masks have a shelf life of three weeks, but personally I just treat them like food: So long as you store them properly and check for changes in scent and consistency, you can get away with using them a bit longer than the official shelf life.

    1. They make some amazing products! It can be kind of overwhelming the first time you go into a store, but once you find a few products you like/want to try, it's easy to get hooked very quickly. :)

    1. It stinks that you can't buy the face masks online but I get why you can only buy them in-store. They will totally survive a trip in the car though (I believe you can keep these un-refrigerated for 9-12 hrs) so if you're ever somewhere with a Lush store, it's a fun treat to take home!
