I was on Team Anne--same as last time--for this theme. Anne, our resident Canadian, gave us the assignment of manicures inspired by the dogwood tree, the national tree of British Columbia. It's a beautiful theme and I'm sure my fellow Team Anne Twinsies will do some gorgeous manicures inspired by it, but...well...
I started with a base of OPI Teenage Dream, one of my all-time favorite OPIs, which I then proceeded to deface with some truly awful nail art that I freehanded using a dotting tool. The branches were done with OPI Suzie Loves Cowboys, the petals are Illamasqua Scorch and the cyme (green part in the center of the flower) is OPI Did It On Em. I think the "flower" on my index finger more closely resembles a runny egg, but maybe that's just me.
So there you have it: My dogwood tree mani. I tried, y'all. :-/ I am sure my fellow Twinsies came up with some great manis for this week's theme though and I can't wait to see their (undoubtedly much better) efforts!

Chelsea, you never cease to make me laugh. This is great!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda! :) I figure if I can't deliver some good nail art, at least I can go for a laugh or two.
DeleteI expected to see diarrhea from the way you described it, but this is fab! Give yourself more credit!! ;-) xoxo
ReplyDeleteHahahaha well, you say "fab," I say "approaching diarrhea levels of bad." ;) But thank you, Maribeth!!
DeleteI was prepared to see a major fail...so not the case!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lakeisha! :) I appreciate that!
DeleteI think these are cute!! I love the glitter you used in this mani!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amber! I figured the sparkles could distract from my awful nail art haha.
DeleteLOL at the sign. And fun fact, the dogwood is the Virginia state flower as well. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Rach! I figure if nothing else, I can at least play my pitiful nail art skills for comedy. And that's good to know! Michigan's (where I live) is the Apple Blossom!
DeleteHehe, you made me laugh Chelsea! I love your little flowers, they are super cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne! :) I'm sorry if I didn't do your theme justice!
DeleteI love that base color! So much sparkle!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly! The base is the one thing I really like here. :)
DeleteI love this!! Just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Meredith!
DeleteI hate to say it, but I saw a sunny side up egg too. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh no worries, I totally thing that's what it looks like! :)
Deleteoh Chelsea, you make me laugh. I love your flowers! And I didn't think the one on the index looked like an egg.
ReplyDeleteThanks ChiChi! I didn't really see the egg thing until I was going through swatches, then I couldn't un-see it! :)
DeleteThose flowers are so cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anna!
DeleteAw this is super cute! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Traci!
DeleteSuch a pretty mani!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nory!
DeleteI think this is pretty, and not as bad as you portray! But I'm always like that with my manis too, and then someone loves it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather! I absolutely think that we are always our own worst critics.
DeleteThis is nice, Chelsea!! Totally flower-like.
