Butter London Chancer

It's rare, but sometimes I become ultra smitten with a red polish. Butter London Chancer is one of those reds. It's a rich red jelly base packed with vibrant shimmer. I love how it's very classic-looking but still sexy and fun. It reminds me of a deeper version of the iconic China Glaze Ruby Pumps. This might not be the most unique shade ever, but damn if it isn't beautiful!

The formula is amazing--no complaints whatsoever here. This was a quick n' easy two coats.

I've got a wedding to go to in a little over a month, where in all likelihood I'll be wearing this red dress I haven't put on in years. I'm toying with the idea of wearing Chancer with it, but do you think that's too matchy-matchy? I'm hardly ever stumped on what to wear on my nails but outside of doing something really neutral, I can't think of something else to pair with a formal red dress!

Essie Peach Side Babe (Summer 2015) Preview

It is going to be one busy spring/summer for all us nail lovers! There are soooo many new collections that I can hardly keep up! Here's another one to pencil into your calendars: Essie's summer set, Peach Side Babe.

I gotta say, after a pretty lackluster 2014 (to me, at least), Essie is really upping their game this year! I definitely want to check out Chillato, Peach Side Babe and maybe Salt Water Happy.

I'm not sure of a release date for these, but my best guess is May or June? That's pure speculation on my part, so don't hate me if it's wrong! ;)

Deborah Lippmann Chasing Pavements

I can't ever turn down a good grey; it's my absolute favorite neutral shade! Deborah Lippmann Chasing Pavements is a beautiful cement grey. It's really crisp and clean-looking--something you might not expect with a cement-colored polish, but there you have it. It's got the chic, fresh look of a perfect palette cleanser shade!

As you can see on my ring finger in the pictures above, Chasing Pavements doesn't completely self-level. Other than that, I didn't really have any problems with the formula on this one. This swatch is from a little while ago, so unfortunately I can't remember if this was two of three coats. :-/

OPI Coca-Cola 100th Anniversary Collection Preview

In what has to be some kind of record, OPI is coming out with a fourth collaboration with Coca-Cola. This time, it's in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Coke's iconic glass contour bottle. The collection is mostly re-promotes from last year's Coca-Cola collab, but there is the addition of two brand new shades.

Coke Contour Bottle 100th Anniversary Mini - OPI Coca Cola Mini 10 pc Set

I'm digging Visions of Georgia Green and I like that OPI had the thought to put the two new shades in a duo pack.

If you need a refresher on some of the re-release shades, I've got swatches of Sorry I'm Fizzy Today, Coca-Cola Red and You're So Vain-illa on the blog for your viewing pleasure!

Twinsie Tuesday: Essie Spun In Luxe

Spring is finally here and this week, we're having a little fun with the seasons and showcasing a "seasonal opposite" manicure. To me, spring is all about bright, bouncy colors and cute pastels. So for my opposite look, I put on Essie Spun In Luxe, a black satin. There's a really gorgeous teal shimmer in the bottle, but unfortunately it's lost almost completely on the nail unless you add top coat. Without it, it's just plain black--which is nice, but kind of a letdown compared to what you see in the bottle and how the shimmer comes across in the other Cashmere Matte polishes.

The first coat was kind of streaky, but everything evened out nicely by the second coat. The overall formula wasn't the best of the Cashmere Mattes, but it wasn't the worst either--and that kinda mirrors how I felt about Spun In Luxe in general. I didn't dislike it, but it wasn't a huge favorite. I just wish the shimmer was stronger. Still, it's a pretty enough polish if you take it for what it is and I think it fit this week's theme really well!

Lauren B. Beauty: Review & Swatches

Hey guys! If you celebrate, I hope you had a good Easter yesterday. Today I've got two awesome polishes to show you from a new-to-me brand called Lauren B. Beauty!

Lauren B.'s polishes are 5-free, cruelty-free and vegan-friendly. All of their polishes names and colors are inspired by the L.A. lifestyle. The colors they sent me to review just so happen to be my two favorite polish colors: blue and green! I swear, this was either a complete coincidence or someone did their research. :) Either way, I'm thrilled!

So enough chit-chat, let's take a look at these west coast beauties! First up we have Sky Bar, a creamy pastel blue. This color is absolute perfection! It makes me think of a clear spring day.

Then we have #ImJuicing, which is a spot-on color for a green smoothie-inspired shade. I have a lot of green polish in my collection and this is a fantastic one! I fell completely in love with it. It's got a slight yellow undertone to it, but not so much so that it wouldn't look flattering on a wide variety of skin tones.

The formula on both polishes is wonderful--buttery smooth with a high shine to it. They were super easy to apply and wore well on me. #ImJuicing was opaque in two coats, while Sky Bar needed three.

I'm a big fan of Lauren B.'s bottle design so I wanted to take a hot second to talk about that too. The bottle itself looks super cute and I love that it has an overcap you can pop off so you have your pick between a round and square cap handle. (I like square best, myself.) It's a thoughtful touch that really contributes to the overall presentation.

These two polishes definitely made me a fan of Lauren B. The colors and the brand vibe are both very fun and the quality is great!

You can purchase Lauren B. polishes from their website.

Disclosure: These polishes were provided for my honest review. For more information, please see my disclosure policy.

Butter London Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquer Preview

Butter released a Patent Shine base and top coat system a few months back and now they've come out with a new line of polishes to go with it! It seems like every brand is coming out with some type of gel alternative these days. I haven't tried BL's system, so I can't speak to how well it works, but their Patent Shine polishes use something called "shock resisting polymer technology" that is supposed to create a high-shine, long-wearing mani.

I saw these in person the other day and I was really tempted by Fancy, but I held out for now. I bought OPI's Infinite Shine system and one of their IS polishes a little while ago and I still haven't tried it, so I want to give that test run before trying any other long-wear polishes.

The Patent Shine polishes retail for $18 a pop and just launched on Butter London's website.
