It’s getting cozy in the campus study. This eggplant crème polish is rich, glossy, and pretty damn sexy!

Because who doesn’t love a comfy cardigan sweater? This teal jelly polish will become your new favorite splash of color. (*Note: It is much more teal than it appears in the photos above.)

A shimmery coppery polish that reflects russet leaves, apple cider, and all that is best about fall.

Rainbow Honey Pinkie Promise

I had a rough day yesterday. Almost the only thing I enjoyed about it was my Rainbow Honey Pinkie Promise manicure. Small victories, people!

Pinkie Promise comes from Rainbow Honey's My Little Pony-inspired Equestria Collection. This shimmering pink polish packed with golden shimmer and bar and hex glitter in pink, blue and gold is inspired by Pinkie Pie. Since the base is on the sheer side and I only have one precious mini bottle, I opted to layer two coats of Pinkie Promise over Zoya Shelby, a bright, blue-based pink creme.

 

I got several compliments on this polish and a few ladies thought it was some type of nail art instead of good ol' glitter polish. One of the things I absolutely love about Rainbow Honey is their polishes don't just pop a little sparkle on top; they completely transform your mani in a very eye-catching way. I swear I get more compliments and comments on my Rainbow Honey polish than any other brand.

 

Like most of my Rainbow Honey polishes, I found this one had a bit of drag to it, but the different glitters all apply very evenly without fishing or placing. If you're in need of a super girly pick-me-up, you can't go wrong with Pinkie Promise. The colors are so happy and fun. I love how the mix of bar and hex glitters looks like a big confetti explosion on your nails!

 

Glimmer by Erica Muy Caliente

Nothing to get you through that middle of the week slump like a little indie glitter, am I right? I've got a red hot beauty to show you today: Glimmer by Erica Muy Caliente! It's a clear base with different shapes and sizes of red, orange and yellow glitter. Muy Caliente, by the way, is Spanish for "very hot." See, I actually retained some stuff from my 10(!) years of taking Spanish in school! ;)

I was going for a fiery kind of look, so I layered two coats of Muy Caliente over OPI An Affair In Red Square. I'm very happy with how it turned out! These two polishes are made for each other!

Next time around I think I'll try Muy Caliente over a contrasting base color, because I'm curious to see how it makes all the colors pop. But I think this polish would look great over just about anything! The formula is excellent--no fishing or placing necessary. One of the things I love about Erica's glitters is they have a lot of complexity to them but all of the different shapes and colors come together effortlessly.

Muy Caliente is lots of fun and I think it's pretty sexy too! I love my blues and greens, but a good, glittery red makes me feel like I can conquer the world! ;)

Twinsie Tuesday: Copycat Mani

This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is as especially cool one: copycat mani. The idea was that we would each be secretly paired up with another Twinsie and then we'd try to duplicate a mani from their blog. Fun, right?

Well I was paired with the absolutely wonderful Nory from Fierce Makeup and Nails! Fun fact: In addition to being my copycat Twinsie, Nory and I also share the same birthday! I've never known anyone who has the same birthday as me, so I think that's pretty cool. We also have the same favorite candy bar: Hershey's Cookies n Cream, which brings me to my copycat mani.

A few months back, Nory did an awesome Cookies n Cream-inspired mani using a jelly sandwich of Wet N Wild 2% Milk and Coverband Sticks 'n Stones. I already had Sticks 'n Stones and I tracked down 2% Milk so I could replicate Nory's look exactly. This is a copycat mani in more ways than once since Sticks 'n Stones is probably the most famous of all the Lynnderella Connect The Dots look-alikes out there.

I absolutely love Sticks n Stones and it's a polish that instantly makes me think of Nory, because she also made me a lovely pair of polish earrings with Sticks n Stones layered over Essie Cascade Cool. If memory serves, Nory herself has a matching ring. :) Look how cute they are!

OPI German-icure by OPI

OPI German-icure by OPI is a vampy deep red shimmer from the Germany Collection. This polish really comes alive in the sunlight and definitely has that lit from within look.

This is two coats. I love how rich this color is, although I do wish it was just a touch lighter so that gorgeous glowing shimmer could come through even more! Still, it's a great fall color.

One thing I don't get though is why the "by OPI" at the end of the name? It just seems unnecessary and like it was randomly tagged on. I know questioning the logic behind anything to related to OPI's naming process is a lost cause, but still.

CrowsToes I Make The Path

I am seriously addicted to CrowsToes. I am a total glitter fiend (if you haven't figured that out by now) and CrowsToes glitters are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen! I think I've got about half a dozen of them by now and I can't wait for the new colors to be released on Llarowe in a week!

Today I've got I Make The Path to share with you. I Make The Path is a clear base with pale blue, dark blue, pastel green and holographic gold glitter. Take a look!

The formula is on the thick side for this polish. It's got some noticeable drag to it, probably because it's so chock-full of glitter. What you see here is just one coat! I honestly didn't mind having to deal with a thicker-than-usual formula because the pay-off is so ridiculously stunning!

I love how vivid the colors are in this polish. It's a gorgeous mix of colors and it's insanely sparkly to boot! I had several people literally grab my hand while I was talking to them because it suddenly caught their eye and they wanted to get a closer look at it. It's definitely a polish that gets noticed! I am so crazy about this polish that I wore it for three days--that's like a lifetime for me--and I wasn't tired of it at all when I finally decided to take it off.

OPI Stranger Tides

This has got to be another one of my all-time favorite OPI cremes: Stranger Tides from last year's Pirates of the Caribbean Collection. It's a grimey, grey-based pastel green and I love, love, love it!

Apparently I'm really feeling the Pirates of the Caribbean Collection lately, since I've also worn Mermaid's Tears, Planks A Lot and Steady As She Rose in the past few weeks. It's one of my favorite OPI collections, which is kind of surprising for me since it's all cremes. But I really like the grungy lean the colors have to them.

As for formula, I have no complaints. What you see here is three coats. I apologize that my nails look a bit messy around the edges for this mani. I was using Stranger Tides as a base for an awesome layering combo, so I didn't do any clean up before taking these quick swatch pics. But stay tuned tomorrow to see what I layered on top!
