China Glaze Crinkled Chrome Preview

China Glaze is taking textured polish in a new direction this fall with their latest collection, Crinkled Chrome. The collection features six new metallic pastels with a "crinkled metal" look.

Top row, L to R: Cool Silver, Crush Crush Baby, Don't Be Foiled
Bottom row, L to R: I'm A Chromantic, Iron Out The Details, Wrinkling The Sheets

There are nail wheel swatches of these polishes from a blogger who saw the collection at Cosmoprof (click HERE to see the photo--a heads-up though that the blog itself is not in English) and based on that, I'm gonna have to say this collection looks like a miss to me. I think the idea of chrome textured polishes sounds intriguing, but the execution (or at least how it appears in that nail wheel photo) makes these look more like lumpy, bubbly frost polishes. *sad trombone* Wah waaahhhhh.

But of course, I will reserve my final judgment for when the collection launches in November and we see more swatches. What do you think of the Crinkled Chrome Collection: intriguingly different or a misstep?

  1. I'm definitely not into the look of these based off that nail wheel photo. It looks kind of well, not great.

    1. Yeah I was intrigued by the concept until I saw the photo. These look alarmingly bad.

  2. The name sounded intriguing, but in the picture they just look messy.

    1. I totally agree. They look really sloppy and bubbly in the picture.

  3. Sorry, but...yeah, sad trombone. Very cool idea, but it looks like crazybubbling, badly applied polish. :-/

    1. That's totally what these remind me of too: some old, bubbling polish you might find in a dusty drawer somewhere.

    1. Yeah I'm really confused as to who these are meant to appeal to. It's a neat concept but the end result looks pretty bad.

  6. Eek I'm a bit scared based on the wheel, but I guess we'll see when they come out!
