Twinsie Tuesday: Tokidoki Latte

First thing's first: I want to give a BIG welcome to our newest Twinsie, Maribeth of Obsessive Cosmetics Hoarders Unite! I've been following Maribeth's blog for a while now, so I'm very excited for the chance to get to know the girl behind the polish! Be sure to hit up her blog and say hello. :)

Now, this week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is a polish you got on clearance or on sale. On a recent eyeshadow run at Sephora, Tokidoki Latte practically lept off the shelf at me. I don't own anything else Tokidoki but this is a very tough polish to miss; it definitely has a lot going on, all of it sparkly! Latte is a clear base with blue round glitter and two types of bar glitter: silver holographic and purple. The entire Tokidoki line is being phased out at Sephora, so I was able to snag this polish for $6 instead of the usual $10!

I apologize that these pictures look like they were taken with some weird Barbara Walters-style filter. I got home from work late last night and didn't have a chance to take some good daylight shots, so I had to make-do with bathroom lighting.

It comes with some cute nail decals too:

Any of my fellow glitter diehards out there will love Latte! If you are fan of polishes like OPI Save Me, then Latte will definitely be right up your alley. Despite being jam-packed with all sorts of glitter, the formula on Latte is very easy to work with, aside from having to watch for stray bar glitter along the edge of my nails. This is three coats. It dries to a bit of a dull finish on its own, so you'll need top coat to really bring out all those sparklies.

What's the best deal you've ever got on a polish? I'm always scouting for deals, so I'm very interested to see what lucky breaks my fellow Twinsies got on their clearance polishes!

    1. Aren't they adorable? I think I'm going to try using them in one of our future nail art-themed TT posts...since I can't freehand to save my own life. :)

  2. Beautiful glitter! I really like that it has the bar pieces in it. The bottle seems pretty cute too.

    1. The bottle is adorable! It's weird though, the bottle is quite large yet somehow only holds 0.4 oz according to the label. Oh well, it's an adorable polish!

  4. I'm uncomfortable with bar glitter because it looks too much like hair, but I will say that the colors in this are really pretty!

    1. I used to get skeeved about by bar glitter for the same reason, but OPI Save Me converted me. Now that you're slowly but surely becoming a glitter convert, we'll have to change your mind on bar glitter next! ;)

  6. This is really cute! I don't know if I could handle the bar glitters though. I have OPI Save Me and don't use it because of them.

    1. I used to really dislike bar glitter but Save Me is actually what turned my opinion around! If you don't get much use out of Save Me though, this polish is basically the same concept but in different colors, so it's prolly skippable for you. :)

  8. lol at Barbara Walters-style filter! I don't even know what that means but it is cracking me up! I LOVE this polish and I am not a big fan of bar glitter. Must go hunt it down!!!

    1. Haha I guess it's kind of a journalism joke--I heard it all the time in my college courses. In her interviews, Barbara Walters is notorious for using camera filters with a super soft blur to them that makes everything look kind of fuzzy, washed out and smoothed over. I think you'd really dig this polish! Let me know if you can't find it and I can check my Sephora for you. :)

    1. I was tempted to get more but restrained myself. All of their polishes looked like they're pretty much the same idea as Latte but with different color combos.
